Senna (Senna Alexandrina) is a shrubby plant that grows natively in Upper Egypt, reaching a height of 0.5–1 meters, and rarely up to two meters. It has a branched, pale-green erect stem and long spreading branches bearing four or five pairs of leaves. The leaflets vary from 4 to 6 pairs, fully edged, with a sharp top. The flowers are big in size, colored yellow that tends to brown, and the fruit is broadly oblong, compressed and flat, containing about six seeds.
